Crocoite belongs to the monoclinic system, usually presented in prismatic, thin, vertically striated crystals and in columnar aggregates. Also granular. It has adamantine gloss and 2.5 to 3 hardness.
Origin
This sample was found in Tasmania (Australia).
Curiosities
This mineral has red or orange color and light sensitivity, what can cause change in its color, if exposed for a long time to intense artificial lighting.
Use
